2026 Union alum, Brandon Buhr, finds himself heading home to Vancouver following a trade from Toronto. The Canucks acquired Buhr along with forward Jacob Quillan in exchange for 2021 second rd pick, center Aatu Rati.
The Maple Leafs had signed Buhr as an undrafted free agent following his senior season at Union in which he appeared in 35 games and scored 19 goals. Assigned to their AHL affiliate, Buhr appeared in 5 games for the Marlies where he recorded two assists.
The trade sends Buhr to a Vancouver team that expressed strong interest in him before he had signed with Toronto last season. Vancouver has assigned Buhr to their ECHL affiliate in Kalamazoo to begin his Canucks career.
